Laser-induced diamond photoionization

diamondphotoionUnraveling the microscopic processes involved in laser irradiation of diamond for optimized direct laser writing of conductive paths towards applications in radiation detection and clinical dosimetry.

Just appeared in Physical Review B.

Studying the processes involved in laser irradiation of diamond below and close to the graphitization threshold is necessary to tune the laser parameters to optimal results. We measured the laser-induced transient current signals in monocrystalline diamond detectors in a wide range of laser intensities and bias voltages; the experimental results were compared to theoretical simulations of the carrier dynamics.
